It is my opinion that it will be best for you to obtain from the State an account of all the monies which have been paid by the continent and stopped from this Office on the settlement of their many other depreciation accounts, that you obtain from the State an account of all the [undecipherable] which might now be charged to the [undecipherable: Line] [undecipherable] and that you insert in the publick prints an advertisement, wherever you will request all commanding Officers of Reg^ts [in] Regimental Paymasters and, those Officers who may be possessed of any knowledge [undecipherable] relating to the loan members, terms of service of the men, that they will forward to you with such information [undecipherable] that the accounts of the men may be closed immediately [undecipherable] the information copied from them old muster Rolls [undecipherable] widely [undecipherable] this new [undecipherable: Register], Pay Rolls or any other Papers which those Officers suppose may be relied on.
