[John [undecipherable]]
Newburgh March 31, 1784
Dear Sir, Before you quit the Post, you will very much oblige me by making out a list of the pay masters and agents who have been settling accounts with you, and who in consequence have claimd on my department; and to each send them a certificate of the allowance you have made or shall made them to their attention since the [undecipherable] of disbanding the army: and I shall also thank you for your [undecipherable] whether [undecipherable] their allowances from you, their claims, in whole or in part, against any department should be admitted. In the list of names, be so good as to note the days on which the pay masters and agents finished their [undecipherable], when all their [undecipherable: laims?] [undecipherable] ceased.
I am, dear Sir,
with great regard
