Dear Sir
Your favor of the 27 January and 26 Feby came to hand the 18th Instant I thank you most gratefully for your attention to my Business. It gives me great Satisfaction to know that the Mill Stone of Maller may be had in time — if they are here in all June it will do — I cannot relinquish the idea of having the Stone four feet in Sight or nine inches diametre or near that Size for my mills will be destroyed at high water it becomes therefore necessary for me to have Stones which will be found dispatched when the tide suits, particularly those in front of the mills Lord as offsite [undecipherable] will be enough I can apply a force equal to the weight of the Stones — McCullum mfs.
Your own I Yours &c most directs you relative to the propriety of taking Stones made in Philadelphia of those made in [undecipherable] will have it in your power with the advice of people who are knowing the matter —
McCullen informs me that
'tis probable the bill on Mr Pettit will be paid as soon as the House shall open at any rate I have no doubt but this bill or another from Mr Furger you will from place money in your hands to [undecipherable] pay for the Stones should they — I should that not be the case your Draft on me will be honored at [strikethrough: two] [undecipherable] fifths. +
