[Copy] By the united States in Congress assembled March 2^d 1784 116 Resolved That the Manner & be agreed on for electing five Commissrs to negotiate with the Indians. March 4^th Congress proceeded to the Election of five Commissrs to negotiate with y^e Ind. and the following being taken: Mr Geo Rogers Clarke, Mr Oliver Wolcott, Mr Nathaniel Greene, Mr Richard Butler, and Mr Joseph Higgenson were elected. March 5^th Resolved that the President immediately inform the Gentlemen, elected from their holding a Treaty with the Indians of the said Election, and that, as it is the Wish of Congress that the Negotiations should commence as soon as possible, the Commissrs are desired to meet at N York on the 10^th of April next to inform the Times & places of holding y^e Treaties with the different Nations & Tribes of Indians, and give them respectively the President's formation of the Time & place determined on, inviting them to meet accordingly. Resolved That all Appointments of persons for Negotiating with the Indian prior to that of the 4^th March are hereby revoked.
