Sir, I am favored with your two letters upon a subject that I am very sorry it is not in my powers to give satisfactory answers– any money will come into the Treasury. I am not able to determine, but hope it takes place soon, after making good on engagement to the Governor for monies he provided when Genl. Washington was here for his use to the amount of three thousand dollars, you may rest assured the Army shall have the supplies if that will be in time to prevent their having them to a discount, I am Sir, with great [illegible] [illegible] J Pierce Esq
