This Day I recëived yours of the 28 Jany
I did receive from Mr Morris Ten thousand dollars — on order of the Same Date as this one giving — two thousand of which was Kept for the use of the Office here since Mr Morris knew. as a Number of Prisoners had Applied for their pay & Subsistence for last year.
Mr Carleton is not yet returned from maryland. the Prisoners are all ready for his Examination up to 1st January —
I have made application to Mr Morris for the Subsistence of the Garrison at West point. once those be Sent on for his safe Appl — as there has been no Appl from Charles Town Since the beginning of December last. I suppose is the reason we have not heard from Mr Dav — and as soon as his Vouchers arrive you may depend they Shace be immediately examined & Entered, have wrote him again. as soon as [undecipherable] Opr. then.
