Sir Since I had the honor to receive your letter of December 17 enclosing one copies of two Letters, one from the Minister of France and the other from the Comptroller, I have to concerning the French Gentlemen who have been in our service, I have been collectinged every evidence and information I can procure both of their services and the advances to them, and but I do not find myself my self at this place sufficiently possessed informed to make a stating of their accounts.
