Sir Since I had the honor to receive your letter of December 17 enclosing one copies of two Letters, one from the Minister of France and the other from the Comptroller, I have to concerning the French Gentlemen who have been in our service, I have been collectinged every evidence and information I can procure both of their services and the advances to them, and but I do not find myself my self at this place sufficiently possessed informed to make a stating of their accounts. I wrote to [indecipherable] War Office for their [undecipherable] but and have received no answer– [undecipherable] their I have such being the circumstances I must request that the whole may be suspended until my arrival in Philadelphia, which will be by first of April next, if my health continues to will inable me to go thro’ the necessary business necessary before I [undecipherable]– for that purpose– I have the Honor to be [undecipherable strikeout] with great respect sir your Obedt Servt R Morris Esquire
