Your, Jany 11. I have received — the Paymasters of the Regiments will have the certificates of the arrears due to the Officers & men you have made advances to, put into their hands in a few days — they have not received any money from the State of Massachusets or from the continent for pay since May 1. 1783, but the whole is included in the settlement I am now making — But If you wish not to be disappointed in receiving the certificates, it will be best for you and any other who have made the said advances, to transmit the orders a more person hath Empowered him to receive the certificates.
