[circled]333[/circled] Sir- Philada January 20 1784- Mr Roberts late forage master to the Commander in Chief having Settled his Accounts with the Quarter Master General, produces an order on me for the balance due him, which is two hundred and forty dollars, as he is unable to return home to Virginia where he belongs without payment- I take the liberty to request that his demand, added to Lieutenant Verdier’s whom I have paid- both equar to three hundred & thirty six dollars may be issued in notes payable as usual- S.H.
