[Copy] West Point, January 15 1784 Sir I am subject to a many inconveniences and delays from [undecipherable] to remark the want of the Papers and Accounts of the Commissione[rs] of the [undecipherable] Department. they have taken up in some instances [undecipherable] and in many, the [undecipherable] of that [undecipherable] — [undecipherable] are charged in my Books and I am unable to balance [undecipherable] accounts and of course you [undecipherable] — I wish therefore to know from you if those ^Papers [undecipherable] are in your [undecipherable] or yet at Albany — if the former I shall trouble you to give me some information in several instances, and if the latter must request that you will [undecipherable] [undecipherable] to be sent to your Office — Col Warner, whose letter [undecipherable: probable reading "is an instance"] I inclose, whose vouchers have been lodged, and [undecipherable] I have refused to settle with him and he has been after his papers both to Albany & Philadelphia — this [undecipherable] he must bear as well as the delay of his accounts, [undecipherable] which makes me request that if you have his papers they may be looked into and I informed of any balance to be stopped from him — or that you will [undecipherable] measures as you may think proper. — Jno.
