Dear Sir
Your Favor of the 6 Instant I have received, in obediance to the Acknewledge the receipt of the Sunday Packets I forwarded last week by the Albany Packet to be left at Major Campbell on the Village at [undecipherable] place I Judge it will be most convenient to the Port & the Gent. at West point to have their Letters left for them but I wish to have ourselves, or "Officers acquainted that as I... letters and Letters now in the office, to find a great many more may daily be brought charged with postage, that as I am Answerable for such, perhaps I trust they could fall on some method to have them forwarded & the postage paid. I suppose Major Campbell, would take that on him to oblige the Officers. I could then send the amount of such Letters, which he could pay to my Postanders.
I have been very unwell for several days, with a just added to a confirmed billiny vomit, but am now much better —
In regard to what you mention respecting some Cash. I think it my duty for your exceeding kindness and politeness extended me when in great want, to exert every resource to comply with your request.
