The United States D<sup>rs</sup> To Jonathan Schiefflin  To my Services as Agent & Interpreter to the Indian Department from the 1<sup>st</sup> Aug<sup>t</sup> 1797 to the 1<sup>st</sup> April 1798 is 8 Months at 40 Dolls  Dol<sup>s</sup> 320 my Subsistence during the above period 243 days at 3 rations per day is 729 rations at 23/3 Cents 170 10/100  C<sup>r</sup> Dol<sup>s</sup> 490 10/100  By Cash rec<sup>d</sup> of the QM Gen<sup>l</sup> the 1<sup>st</sup> Aug<sup>t</sup> last per my receipt to him on the Warrant of the Comm<sup>r</sup> in Cheif being the same that was presented at the Treasury 150  D<sup>r</sup> 340 10/100  Received at Detroit July 11 1798 of John Wilkins Jun<sup>r</sup> QM Gen<sup>l</sup>.  Three hundred & forty dollars & ten Cents in full of the above account---Signed Duplicates--- J.
