    Enclosed are the pay & Muster Rolls of the Armorers employed at this Post for the Month of November. Also an Estimate of the probable amount of expenditures for the Month of December--

    I am informed by Sn^r Lyman that Sam^l Hodgon Esq^r has the goodness to undertake the Agency of receiving & remiting the Money for this Depart^t in future. I have enclosed him a power of Attorney appointing him my Agent for this purpose -- in case the enclosed Estimate meets your approbation I wish the amount may be paid over to him on Account of the Armory

    I have received your letter of the 11th instant. the wood heretofore has been furnished the Armory at two Dollars per cord--and I believe the Department cannot be supplied short of that sum in future

    I am informed by S Lyman Esq ^r that you have the goodness to under-take the Agency of receiving & transmiting the money for the Department in future--this mark of your friendship & politeness merits & receives my warmest acknowledgements- this accommodation is so consonant to my wishes that I shall ever remember it with pleasure & gratitude -- enclosed is a Power of Attorney appointing you my Agent in this business- - -

    As soon as the year expires I shall lose no time in making out, & transmiting an Acc^t of the Work done in the Factory in the year past --- The rolled Iron I wrote for some time since for the use of the Armory has not come to hand -- it is very much wanted -- There is wanted two pair of brass screws for the hose of the Engine -- the difficulty of obtaining them here -- compels me to trouble you to have them made in Phila^a - the Man that made the Engine - undoubtedly can make them to fit the Pipe of the Engine which is absolutely necessary
