Extract of a Letter from the Secretary of War to Major J.J. Ulrich Rivardi commanding at Niagara. Aug 12. 1800 "It appears that Dr Muirhead attended from the 29th of August'till the 9th of Nov. 1799; and Dr Kerr from the 9th Nov. 1799 till the 14th of Jany. 1800. If the Gentlemen are willing to accept of the pay of assistant or Surgeon's Mate in the Service of the United States, their Bill for the amount will be duly honor'd.
