Your Letter of the 20th inst. enclosing Invoices of public clothing together with twenty one Casks supposed to contain the articles refered to in said invoices, have been reced by the hand of Wm. Mahan. As soon as possible their state & numbers shall be ascertained & proper Receipts forwarded to you--
It is a realy a misfortune this clothing was not shipped for New York from Boston--as all articles of this kind--at this [Port?] has lately been forwarded to that place--by an order for that purpose from the Intendant of Stores--
