The following order of the President of the United States is published for the information of all concerned vis
War Department 12th November 1800
Sir
The proceedings of the General Court Martial lately holden a Philadelphia for the trial of Captain John Bishop of the 2d Regiment of Artillerists and Engineers, and of Lieut Stephen G Simmons of the Cavalry, having with the respective sentences been considered by the President of the United States, and before any order made by him thereon returned to the war Office and therein consumed by five on the evening of the eighth instant, the Presidential orders, that the said Captain John Bishop and Lieut Stephen G Simmons be dismissed from the service of the United States, which order you will forthwith put in [decipherable}tion
