Sir
I enclose a Copy of a Letter received this morning from Capt.t William MacRea of the Second Regiment of Artillerists and Engineers.
I am of opinion that his request of an advance of pay and subsistence is reasonable and ought to be granted: you will therefore be pleased to cause the porper measures to be taken to that effect, as soon as possible. Capt.t MacRea states that he has forwarded his accounts for Settlement.

Having received a Furlough for the benefit of my Health, I have to request you would be pleased to direct the paymaster General to pay me the Amount of pay and Subsistence to the first of July and an advance of three months pay and Subsistence on acc.t
