Dear Sir.
Mr. Grandprey, a French gentleman, has requested me to favour him with a line of introduction to you, it being likely, that his affairs may lead him to Paris, and his inclinations to pay you a visit.
I have found him a well bred man; a scholar, and well acquainted with the general science of law,[undecipherable]
I have the honour to be with great respect [undecipherable]
Your most ob sv.
James McHenry
James Monroe Esq
