Title

Discussion of Materials for Frigate Construction, Referring to Frigate Constellation at Baltimore

Description

Truxton and others at the navy yard in Baltimore responded to the report of the Marine Committee of the US House by sending lists of materials needed for the construction of one 44 gun and one 36 gun frigate. Discusses Fox's complaints about Hodgdon not submitting accounts to the war office. Believes that his white oak will be better than that from New Hampshire. Hopes that the quality of the oak, combined with the readiness of the Baltimore yard, will mean that the frigates will be built in Baltimore and not New Hampshire.
