Description
Hodgdon is honored that he has been appointed by the President [Washington], with the advice and consent of the Senate, as Quartermaster of the troops in the service of the United States. His inclination to serve his country and the flattering manner in which this appointment was made induce him to accept the appointment with the wish that he will discharge his duties with honor to himself and his country.
