since I had the honour of receiving your favor
subject of the two 18 pound cannon taken from the deposit of the public stores by the owners of Hope Furnace, I have made several applications to Gov. Bowen for proof of their claims to said cannon in order that I might transmit the same agreeable to your request
not yet been able to obtain said proof and two months having elapsed since you wrote me on the subject I have thought it proper to assure you I have not been inattentive to your request and persevere in my applications
obtain the aforesaid proof when I will do myself the honor to transmit the same to you
affords me peculiar to congratulate you on the adoption of the new constitution by the late convention of Massachusetts
