Sir,
Your Letter of the 20 April, with the
enclosed [undecipherable] LCols Commission, with which
Congress have been pleased to honor me
I have remainde this day - and while
I express my objections to that Hon. body
be pleased, Sir, to accept of my grateful
acknowledgement for receiving though
your friendship, a Commission, which in
my present Military employment, may
be useful as well as honorable.
I have the honor to be
with the Greatest respect
