No. 713

April 17th 1792

Jonathan White, of

the 3d. Reg. L. Dragoons

Act 27 March 1792
[tear in page reveals portion of enclosed letter]
[Dve?] The United States in [undecipherable] with Jonathan White of the late 3d Regt of Dragoons . . . [b~?]

| || Dols || || Ct

| Gratuity for inlisting during the War || 80 || "

I cannot procure from the Master Rolls the actual time of White inlistment, and have therefore been under the necessity of accepting his evidence which is corroborated by personal information of Colo Gunn. I consider the charge for the [undecipherable] very extravagant to be unreasonable - but as theose soldiers who carried off their Hours were charged at this rate I do not consider myself [undecipherable] to make any discrimination.
The Auditor of the Treasury Joseph Howell
