Summary Informs the Secretary of War that he has examined the books as requested and found that William Mason - a soldier formerly belonging to the Virginia Line - was imprisoned at the surrender of Charles Town. Also notes that he was appointed assistant steward at the hospital under the direction of Doctor Oliphant. Mason has a claim for depreciation on pay.
