Summary Senator Dayton corresponds with McHenry on the wintering of troops stationed in New Jersey, requesting that a new contract for the supplying of rations be immediately drawn up for Dayton's brother, the mayor of Elizabethtown. Dayton adds that the present contractor may be upset with the annulment of the old contract, but that the public would be glad to learn of the savings that will be produced through the new one.
