Dear Sir
Permit me to inform you that in consequence of Mr. Ward's residence in the back parts of this state I have not as yet had an oppty of having a Settlement; your kind offer to do every thing in your power to have y little matter adjusted before the Honorable Treasury Board, prompts me, at this late period, to accept the favor and at this same time beg that you would be assured that the greatest sense of gratitude will be engraved in my Mind for the friendly office; I have he Honor to be with respect, Dear Sir,
