I send your Excellency a Statement of Ex-penditures on the fortifications, it is impossible to ascertain the portion which each Work has absorbed, those on the blockhouse on this side will exceed our Estimates say Goodall. Those on the other parts of the Work, I hope will not. I thought best to suspend all the Labour in Earth, that more of the sum granted might apply to the blockhouses in case of hostilities, a further sum might be granted, if not, the Zeal of the Citizens could be relyed on to complete the Works in Earth ~ the new London blockhouse is up, in stone, to the Loop Holes. On Groton we have taken up the Magazine & drawn the stone together about the place of the proposed blockhouses finding it very inconvenient to divide our Workman Implements & attention, the Works on that side are discontinued for the present.
I am, very respectfully
